A South Carolina woman did not hesitate to remove a specific items from her homeHalloweendisplay after learning of her neighbor’slung cancer diagnosis.

Salena Webb has had her home in Duncan decked out for Halloween since September, according toInsider. Among the spooky decorations was a casket, which has since been removed at the request of her neighbor’s son.

In aclip of the conversation, which was captured via Ring doorbell camera, the man told Webb that his father “just got diagnosed with lung cancer the other day” before asking if the casket could be taken down.

“I’m just trying to redirect him to different thoughts so he’s not thinking about it,” the man told Webb, whoshared a clipof the conversation on TikTok.

In the caption of her post, Webb said she had recently purchased the skeleton carrying the casket “to go along with my graveyard” and “really set my halloween decor off this year.”

After listening to the man’s story, however, Webb agreed to take the casket down. She told Insider that her neighbor regularly spends time in his garage and can see onto her property, so the decision was a “no brainer.”

“I’m a little sad about it, but it’s not about me,” she told the outlet. “There’s always next year.”

Now, the more “morbid” decorations — including tombstones that also sat in her front yard — are in her backyard, out of her neighbor’s view. She also gave badminton rackets to the skeletons that remained in front of her home to lighten up the spirit.

Meanwhile, the TikTok video she shared has gained about 1.2 million views and more than 86,000 likes as of midday Thursday afternoon.

Webb did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

“Me removing my casket isn’t hurting me at all,” Webb wrote in the caption of her post, “but it may ease and bring my neighbor a little bit of peace as he adjusts to this news.”

She added, “Kindness is free and compassion goes a long way.”
