The hit Netflix show has cast newcomer Emma Corrin as Lady Diana Spencer, who went on to marryPrince Charlesand become Diana, Princess of Wales, it was revealed on Tuesday.

Diana will be introduced in the show’s fourth season, according toThe Hollywood Reporter.(Season 3 is set to premiere in 2019, although an exact date has not been announced.)

“Beyond excited and honored to be joiningThe Crownfor its fourth season,” Corrin said in a statement. “I have been glued to the show since the first episode and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is just surreal. Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To be given the chance to explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will strive to do her justice!”

They are replacingClaire FoyandMatt Smith.

Netflix previously announced that Emerald Fennell would be playing a youngCamilla, Duchess of Cornwall, née Camilla Shand, for the show’s third season.
