In a fairy tale proposal at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park, Schnacky, 28, popped the question in front of Cinderella Castle at the stroke of midnight on Dec. 19, 2024. Instead of losing a glass slipper, Marino, 27, slipped on a dazzling diamond ring.
“I wanted to make her feel like the princess she is and make all her dreams come true on her special day,” Schnacky exclusively tells PEOPLE.

Having worked at Radio Disney Miami AM 990 when he was younger, Schnacky had Disney connections he could contact to help him with his idea to propose at Marino’s “favorite place in the world.” The “incredible” Disney team sprung into action, inviting Marino to a fake three-day trip, which featured a private after-hours holiday photo shoot.
“A lot of meetings, a song I wrote for two years and a lot of hard work behind the scenes, I made it happen,” says Schnacky, who has nearly 8 million followers onTikTok. “I was so excited for the moment, but nervous. I wanted it all to go over seamlessly.”

After getting some solo shots, Marino walked over to her favorite princess’s castle, where she reunited with Schnacky. Both of their families were present for the special moment when Schnacky got down on one knee and said, “You’re my best friend, you’re the girl of my dreams and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Although Marino had her suspicions about a proposal, she tells PEOPLE that she was still “in shock.” “You don’t really know until it truly happens before your eyes,” she says.
“It was a surprise. She had intuitions, but I’ve thrown her off so many times she had no idea, just inclinations,” Schnacky notes. “She says nothing can take away from a moment like that and she liked that she had a few hints along the way so she could be ready and present. She says it’s the most magical day of her life and she forever wants to relive the moment.”
“She was blown away, in tears, we both were,” he adds.
As an engagement gift, Schnacky later surprised his fiancée with an original Disney-esque song entitled “Blue Moon.”

“Ever since K-Cup was a little girl, she’s always wanted to be a princess. Every Disney princess needs a Disney theme song,” Schnacky tells PEOPLE. " ‘Blue Moon’ was my heart and soul over one year carefully articulating exactly how I feel about falling in love with her."
“I first wrote the melody in Spring 2023. I worked on the song for months to get the lyrics absolutely perfect,” the groom-to-be continues of his new single. “Once we had that in line, we hired a full choir and some orchestra pieces to bring this song to life!”
Their relationship theme song and music video will be released on Saturday, Feb. 15.

The theme park is like a “second home” to Marino. After the influencer’s father, fallen firefighter Kenneth, died in the 9/11 attacks, her mother, Katrina, used to take her and her younger brother, Tyler, to the parks to feel “safe.”
Years later, Marino moved to Orlando, Florida, to work at Disney’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where children get magical makeovers from Fairy Godmother’s apprentices. It was in the Sunshine State that she met Schnacky through church in early 2020. He introduced her to content creation, and the two eventually started dating.
“It was COVID, so it really gave us a good chance to get to know each other and to really make sure it was a good fit,” Schnacky says of their “slow burn” relationship. “It just was a lot of fun, like a beautiful little crescendo.”

Now, the newly engaged couple look forward to wedding planning.
“Right now, we’re fully living in the moment of being engaged and calling each other ‘fiancé,’ " Schnacky says. “It’s fun getting to share the news with our friends and family over the phone and seeing how excited they are for us. We don’t plan on being engaged very long, but we don’t wanna rush the process either.”
He continues: “Our goal is to be as intentional with the wedding as we were with every other step in our relationship. Our thought process is, we only get to do this once, why not live each moment to its fullest?”
Marino — who has 1.7 million followers onTikTok— hopes to tie the knot in New York to honor her father, but will still make sure toincorporate Disney into her nuptialsin some way.
“Disney will always be in the details,” she says.
