Along the way, she ad-libbed some lyrics, while staying true to the Hathaway version.

Yesterday, the “Underneath the Tree” performerresponded to Cher’s messageon the platform. “Girl, you gave us the greatest gift this Christmas with this song! Thank you for letting me sing it,” she wrote. “I love you so much, and you made my year with your post!”
Clarkson’s Kellyoke cover of “DJ Play a Christmas Song” isn’t the first time she’s showed how passionate she is about the track. The Grammy winnerrocked out to the songwhile hosting NBC’sChristmas in Rockefeller Centerlate last month as Cher performed it for a crowd.
“Oh my gosh, you guys,” Clarkson exclaimed during the show. “Cher just — she put out a Christmas jam, y’all! That song is so good! That is my favorite song in a very long time!”
