Foster explained of this particular awards journey and nomination, “I think I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Maybe just the most content I’ve ever been. I think it’s more like a bonus thing. It just feels more fun.”
Foster added that she’s also “so proud of”True Detectiveseason 4, which wrapped up in February, and that she “really fell in love with the limited series format” and might return to it as a director.

Foster and Hedison, 54, married back in 2014. Hedison is a photographer, actress and filmmaker. Their date at the 2024 Oscars marked a rare red carpet appearance for the pair.
For her part, Stoll, 71, was thrilled that Foster would be portraying her in the film. “She’s just the loveliest human being,”she told PEOPLEin 2023. After she was cast in the film Foster went over to Stoll’s house to spend time with her.
“I can’t sit still for the most part. Jodie came over. We sat outside for three hours straight,” Stoll said. “I never even thought about standing up. You know, ‘What’s your favorite food?’ ‘Oh, me too!’ That kind of thing,” she explained, adding that they became real friends.
Foster was first nominated for an Oscar for her role in 1976’sTaxi Driver. She was just 14, making herone of the youngest ever Oscar nominees. She was next nominated for 1988’sThe Accused, winning Best Actress. She won the award a second time forThe Silence of the Lambsin 1992. Her forth nomination was for 1995’sNell.
This January,Foster supported Hedison at the Sundance Film Festival, where her non-fiction short filmALOKpremiered. Foster executive produced the doc, which focuses on Alok Vaid-Menon, a nonbinary author, poet, comedian and public speaker. “Alex andALOKare part of making people better instead of worse,” Foster toldThe Today Showin January.
