USA Today features our first look at the new Sleestaks in the Land Of The Lost flick , now shoot — and they do n’t reckon all that different from the classic Sid - And - Marty - Krofft variation . Director Brad Silberling ( Lemony Snicket ’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events ) says he fought to keep the humanoid shape of the menacing lounge lizard hoi polloi , instead of have them be “ spindly computerized beingness . ” They look a bit cooler than the original variant , but still have the actors - in - suits thing . get across through for the full picture , plus some plunderer .
Says Silberling :
There is a good sense of humor that I loved from the original show that can only fare from an actor seek to negociate the lawsuit . If it became CG , they ’d be too perfect . For the Sleestak to continue in people ’s memories , it tells you that it was about who was in the suit . ”

There will be one key departure , however : instead of shooting crossbows at people , the new Sleestaks will pull pinion out of their own spines and inject them like arrows .
According to USA Today , the new movie have three adults ( Will Ferrell , Anna Friel and Danny McBride ) pierce into a soil of “ dinosaurs , monkey - man call Pakuni and the murderous Sleestak . ” The three venturer hope that a giant lechatelierite will zap them back to their own “ proportion . ” [ USA Today ]
