Director Guillermo del Toro talk about the first trailer , which is plant to premiere sometime next month :
“ They make for it to me and then I do a little passing myself , I help with the good aim , then we re - cut it again , and then I ’m involved in the timing of the color and the mixing of the sound , so whatever you construe in San Diego or New York , I was entirely part of the process . Lawless and The Proposition conductor John Hillcoat says he wants to do a skill fiction movie , and judge by all his previous movies , Guy Pearce will probably be involve , which is never a bad thing :
“ I would love to go further into the future and do a scifi film . I love ‘ Alien ’ and ‘ Blade Runner ’ and ‘ 2001 . ’ I love the scifi movies where it ’s from the point of view of humans in that situation … When it becomes too clever in its ideas , the cyber - punk high - technical school thing , it becomes more about something else . I still care man ’s relationship to all of that . Or it becomes a thoroughgoing spectacle like a figurer game . So I ’m looking to get the right counterbalance there . ”

All that had to be pitch to 12 volt to make it secure . And there was steam , and heater , and explosion , and guns , and everything that induce directing Doctor Who playfulness . I had the time of my living .
He also discusses a CGI creature that will play a prominent function in the installment . It sure does n’t vocalize like the Ice warrior , but there could always be two teras , I infer :
And then there ’s ‘ the creature ’ as well . Because of the environment that Mark put his brute in , there was all form of grain around that ’s natural to the surround – and water , of course – and I took advantage of that . I had the creature stomping through water . I pip some of it in sluggish - mo , to make it expect even more impressive . The results are glorious . If that ’s strong work , I ’ll have some more of it , thank you very much .
