Syfy ’s two summertime series , Eureka and Warehouse 13 , are back tonight , for their vacation episodes . What ’s Syfy Claus got in his sacque for you ? Silliness , a pinch of schmaltz , and some very weird Santas . Very minor pillager ahead .
Despite being holiday - theme episodes , tonight ’s installation of Eureka and Warehouse 13 adhere reasonably near to their respective show ’ recipe , with pretty becoming results . Eureka gives us the tale of an experiment go wrong , which risks destroy the town one more time . storage warehouse 13 gives us an “ artefact of the week ” plot line , which turns out to have a seasonal subject matter confiscate to it .
But more significantly , the two show seem to be competing to see how cockeyed their holiday trappings can be — and in the process , they go middling uproariously over the top . Eureka unchurch Sheriff Carter with a holographic window pane of the Christmas purport following him around , while Warehouse 13 , among other things , reveals the original sprig of Mistletoe . Plus nutcrackers who actually … well , you ’ll see .

And there are Santas — boy , how there are Santas . In Eureka ’s instalment , someone flies a sleigh with reindeer over the township , forcing Jack Carter to track down Santa Claus before he does any real damage . ( just hazard ! ) And meanwhile , a cryptical “ mystical Santa ” is giving the residents of the town the absolute stark presents , and Zoe consecrate to track this soul down . Meanwhile , Warehouse 13 ’s Santa is actually kind of sinister and weird … the overall upshot of watching both episode back to back is to be , as Carter articulate at one point , a bit creep out . Which balances the usual messages about unspoiled will and being good to your family , espouse or otherwise , quite nicely .
Of the two episode , Warehouse 13 ’s “ Secret Santa ” is the more memorable — it in reality has more of a musical theme than I was able to discern in Eureka ’s “ O Little Town ” — the Warehouse episode is all about lacking fathers , and the “ A ” plot and “ B ” plot weave together moderately nicely . ( In the “ B ” plot of ground , we get to meet Artie ’s alienated father , played by Judd Hirsch . ) Plus , Claudia is even more of a deranged madman than usual , which has to count for something .
But both show service up a goodly amount of joke and weirdness — and they ’ll unquestionably aid you fare to turns with the seasonal ubiquity of the big scary man in the red suit , by giving you some new Santa - link up memes to titter about .

Eureka is on tonight at 9 PM , accompany by Warehouse 13 at 10 PM .
