We normally observe solar occultation from our view here on the airfoil — oreven from an aeroplane — but this image from NASA ’s Deep Space Climate Observatory show this week ’s entire solar eclipse from a rather unique vantage point .
This animation of theMarch 9 total solar eclipsewas assembled from 13 image enamor by NASA ’s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera ( EPIC ) on the DSCOVR artificial satellite . All individual images in the series can be downloadedhere(zip ) .
look at these images , you may see how the occultation made its elbow room from the Indian Ocean to the north of Australia , and then across the subject water supply and islands of Melanesia , Micronesia , and Polynesia . you may see how the shadow be active in the same counsel as the Earth rotates .
