Netflix’scancelation of Marvel ’s Daredevilwas a blow to many , but few more than Charlie Cox — the doer who played Daredevil himself , Matt Murdock . After a workweek of muteness , he ’s ultimately come out and said his piece .
“ A lot of us really expected to keep pass , and I for certain did , ” Cox toldEntertainment Weekly . “ The the true is , I felt like we had a lot of stories to severalise , and although I empathise [ the cancelation ] , I ’m very saddened by that . ”
Though Daredevil debut on Netflix in 2015 , Cox was cast as the graphic symbol in the summer of 2014 . That ’s four and a half years , a long meter to be playing one theatrical role in this day and age . Plus , the show had just debuted its third season a few short month ago . the great unwashed were still ascertain andgetting excited to see what was next .
“ It ’s justhow business sector work , ” Cox say . “ But also , these characters mean a deal to hoi polloi . It ’s weird to believe there ’s a chance I wo n’t be playing Matt Murdock ever again . When asked about where he thought the series could have conk after time of year three , Cox was careful not to say too much , because he did n’t need to put common salt in the wound .
“ I detest to be dull , but to be fair , I do n’t recollect I should answer that , ” Cox said . “ It ’s so raw , the news show . It ’s quite terrible for quite a lot of people . I was really excited about the ideas that were talked about for season four , and I think if I was to speculate about it and it went on the internet , it might not be very helpful to mass … Anything I say often gets pick up and circulated , and I just want to make certain I do n’t give any false hope . ”
Netflix , however , had no trouble give fan what could stop up being imitation hope .
