Most people wo n’t have a use for Benjamin Moore ’s new $ 300 Pocket Palette , but there ’s no disputing it ’s a middling bitchin ’ . The Pocket Palette electronically matches any color to the close Benjamin Moore sample in their catalogue , so instead of carrying around hundreds of swatches to get an exact catch , you just hold it up to a wall ( or whatever ) , push a button , and save it for later on . It would be better if it matched multiple palettes , like Pantone and all those other commercial and non - commercial-grade ( and non - paint ) libraries , but it ’s a start . In a few calendar month I would n’t be surprised to see the very same thing built in a generic version .

There is a product called the ColorCue from Pantone that is similar in form and function to the Pocket Palette , but this gives you Pantone , CMYK , EuroCMYK , sRGB , HTML , etc . , values . The price rag is actually lower than the Benjamin Moore thing too .
I have a ColorCue for work and I use it all the clip , it shake .
