Terry Gilliam ’s grotesque animation work for the furor classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail was already a stack to behold — but we almost get a passel more of it in the actual pic . Now 40 years later on , an prolonged gash of mostly - finished animation oeuvre , think lost to time , has been found . And you could catch it all online !
The nearly 15 minute clip is part of the upcoming40th anniversary Blu - Ray release of the movie , and features narration from Gilliam himself , as he discusses his influence for the artistic production coming from thebizarre illustrationsmonks would doodle in the gross profit margin of their holograph back in medieval times . While it ’s always a pleasure to listen about Gilliam ’s stimulant and process , the animation itself is fascinating to keep an eye on , all appropriately weird and fantastic for Monty Python .

It ’s a shame it did n’t make it into the final cut of meat of Holy Grail , but at least we get to see it now , regardless of the four - decade hold .
