I still remember the last interlingual rendition of AutoCAD — belike the biggest software program in the satellite only third to Office and Photoshop — for Macintosh . That was 18 year ago . Autodesk left the Mac , vowing never to return … until today .
AutoCAD 2011 for Mac OS X is now prescribed .
To people who have been using estimator for more than two decades — like myself — this is quite shocking news program , even while we knew that the genus Beta have been circulating around for a while now . The companionship even acknowledges that in their announcement : “ You ’ve waited long enough . AutoCAD 2011 for Mac is here . ” Heck , their promotional telecasting even has a mug with the quondam rainbow Apple logotype on it .
They are not just doing a brassy porthole of the Windows interpretation . They are jumping in with full funding for all core Mac OS disco biscuit characteristic , include multitouch gestures and even a pro app - like substance abuser interface that reminds me of Apple ’s own Final Cut Pro . All the characteristic of AutoCAD 2011 will also be present in the Mac OS X version , from NURBS to shade to the obligatory DWG file format .
If that was n’t enough , they are also releasing a looker for iOS devices that will appropriate for editing and annotation . I ’m sure that architect and engineers everywhere would jump at the approximation of being capable to carry 200 DWG files around in their iPads with mini - AutoCAD .
