A limited feel at theGalaxy Tabshowed me all I needed to see : this thing is great . I ’m no lover of Samsung phones , and occupy it would palpate cheap , with TouchWiz an albatross around Android ’s neck . I was haywire .

It ’s well made , and does n’t seem as plasticky as the Galaxy S range of phones — or indeed , most Samsung headphone . Just like with the iPad , the bezel around the display is peradventure too gravid for its own good , but the touch - raw button ( menu , home plate , back and search ) almost do n’t have a function with that bombastic 7 - in display .
While I do n’t want to harp on too much about the iPad , it ’s the elephant in the room when discussing tablets . Android is so well suited for a gadget such as a tablet , and while I have my score about Samsung ’s TouchWiz UI , it ’s not as cumbersome as it feels on a smartphone .
The touchscreen ( a capacitive TFT - LCD WSVGA show , with 1024 x 600 pel ) could be improved upon . While it ’s bright , and render colors beautifully , it could be more receptive . Several sentence I had to pound a finger at an app to open it . Otherwise , it ’s tight enough for a tablet of its size — for the most part thanks to the Cortex A8 1.0GHz , which zoom along along in some of their Galaxy S phones .
