Lead Shot (before during the accident)
The details here are foggy due to all the booze . We needed a group shot at the end of the nighttime so everyone piled into the street and we light off two howitzer shell on the terra firma behind us . The tv camera was on a tripod in the back of my truck . Here is what I used :
Camera : Olympus E - PL1
Lens : Lumix G 1.7/20 Prime Lens

ISO : 200
Fstop : 4.0

Cracking a Cold One
I took these with my Nikon D40 using the kit lens and manual mode . I kept the shutter open 3 seconds to fascinate the electric discharge from the bottle rocket . Nothing good than bourgeon nursing bottle roquette out of a freshly emptied beer bottle on the 4th of July .

Goooooold
Canon Rebel XT , EFS 18 - 55 millimeter kit lens , ISO 100 , F/4.5 , AWB
incisive images of fireworks are common . But many fireworks sizzle or sparkle , come along blurred as they expand . To enamour a fairy story quality , I briefly rival the tripod with my hand to judder it a bantam amount , obscure to the defenseless eye but see by the camera detector . The resulting grain remind me of delicate watercolor paintbrush fortuity .
[ erectile dysfunction note : What a great , effective technique . ]

Now That’s America!
Canon EOS Rebel T1i , Canon EF - S55 - 250 mm f/4 - 5.6 IS , Aperture : 4 , Exposure Time : 1/80 , ISO : 800
I choose this at my hometown ’s ( Bedford , IN ) fireworks show . This picture cry America to me , with its implied greasy Warren Burger smell , and colorful explosions .
[ Ed distinction : Bonus points for seizure of the human experimental condition . The title was Clark ’s . ]

Wait, Wait, Wait…Who Let Canada In??
Equipment : Nikon D60 ( 18mm-55 mm lens )
I took this photograph on July 1st ( Canada Day ) in front of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa . usually I observe the fireworks from balcony , but this year , I joined the throngs of hoi polloi in front of the Parliament . I chose this one because of the composition of the Peace Tower and Canadian Flag firework explosions . I thought the lens flare added a moment of interest to the word picture .

I learn this shooting at the Yorba Linda , CA 4th of July celebration . Had the shutter in bulb mode . My sister confine the camera steady on the tripod while I adjusted the focus back and off to get the floral effect . Did some canonic contrast / curve adjustments in Adobe Lightroom .

At my local fireworks presentation for the quaternary , the gamy - in - the - air bursts were n’t giving me what I wanted , but when the low-toned shells started being set off I loved the way the feather of weed curl behind the rockets .
[ male erecticle dysfunction banknote : I enjoy the picture so intemperately , but I ca n’t help but wish well it was perfectly sharp . ]

For the Fourth I went to the fireworks display in Downtown Lansing Michigan . I drive a sum of 451 , blame 24 of those to upload to my Flickr , and off all of those snap This was my favorite shot from the entire evening . to get the shot I just manually focused my lense as tight to me as potential , dress the aperture way down , and pop blast .

Fireworks On a Budget
photographic camera : canyon Digital Rebel XSi
Lens : 18 – 55 mm outfit lens
F/ : 6.3
Shutter : 1.3 second
All I had really want to do this independence Clarence Shepard Day Jr. was get a comely picture to submit for the challenge , so my family & I expire to where i think would be a utter post . As it turns out , all the fireworks were too far aside to get anything full . fortuitously , my sister had get a text that people were setting them off at the local elementary school . We had gotten there in time to see not the most professional show of fireworks , ( a few of them fell over & explode on the ground ) but certainly more photographical . This characterisation was taken zoom along in during the exposure .
[ Ed tone : Fascinating how the soar exposure coupled with a inglorious backdrop ruin our sense of scale of measurement . ]

Big Blue
ISO 100 , f/7.1 , 3.2s shutter
This is the first “ tangible ” event / action item I ’ve had the opportunity to shoot with this camera . I set the camera up on the tripod in time for the 9:30p starting signal meter . 9:30p came , followed by the first pyrotechnic plate , then a 2nd , and a third , and then the sprinklers came on ! We had to scurry off the lawn to avoid getting drenched

Mortar Wars
Nikon D90 , 18 - 55 mm VR @ 22 mm , ISO 200 , f/5.6 , 4 Sec Exposure
For the last 3 years our 4th of July party has been a contest of Mortar Wars . We split into teams on paired side of the field of force and plan out strategies . The gun consist of principally Mortars and orotund Roman candles . This year I manage to impart my camera for the first 15 minutes of the festivities . This image shows the blow track from mortar and then blasting in good order above appose squad .

WINNER
Shot on a Canon 7D with a Tokina 11 - 16 f/2.8 . 3 sec , f/4.0 , 16 mm , ISO 100 , BULB modal value .
For the first 15 minute of the show , I just was n’t quite quenched with the shots I was getting but about halfway through , these four boy came and sit around down right in front of me . turn out all I needed was some some spectators to cast anchor the bottom of my soma and lend a human element to the chaos in the sky .
